President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conferred national honours on members of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on D’Tigress team for wining the FIBA Afrobasket Champioship for a record five times.
The president also awarded a $100, 000 cash rewards to each member of the team, while the coach and crew were also gifted $50, 000 each.
The team and crew will also get additional property rights in the FCT.
President Tinubu hosted the victorious D’Tigress team in the Aso Rock Villa on Monday.
Tinubu while celebrating the team praised them for their resilience, discipline, and representation of Nigeria on the continental stage, describing them as role models for the nation’s youth and a symbol of national pride.
