The Armed Forces of Nigeria have continued to record significant victories in the ongoing counter-terrorism and anti-crime operations across the country, neutralizing 92 terrorists and arresting 111 suspected criminals within one week.
Between 27 February and 6 March 2025, the combined land and air components of the Armed Forces, in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), security agencies, and hybrid forces, conducted aggressive clearance, ambush, raid, and search-and-rescue operations across various theatres of operations.
The coordinated operations led to the rescue of 75 kidnapped hostages and the arrest of 18 oil theft perpetrators, while several terrorists’ collaborators were also apprehended.
Troops recovered 117 assorted weapons and 2,939 rounds of ammunition, also recovered included 58 AK-47 rifles 21 locally fabricated guns, 7 pump-action guns, 11 RPG bombs, 2 RPG tubes, 2,278 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
In the South-South region, troops foiled oil theft estimated at ₦521.8 million, seizing 452,396 litres of stolen crude oil, 224,175 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and 1,920 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
Security forces also destroyed 87 illegal refining sites, 28 dugout pits, 33 storage tanks, and recovered several vehicles, pumping machines, and mobile phones.
