During Wednesday’s committee review it was observed that Senator Natasha was absent.

However, the decision of a six month suspension was announced during Thursday’s plenary session following allegations of sexual harassment petition made by the senator Natasha against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Presenting the report, Committee Chairman Senator Neda Imasuen revealed that Senator Natasha was found guilty of all allegations against her, citing her failure to appear before the committee for a review of her conduct.

As part of the suspension, the committee advised that her salary and security details be withdrawn, while she is also expected to issue a formal apology to the Senate for what was described as disrespectful actions.

The controversy began earlier this year after Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan accused the Senate President of sexual harassment and obstructing her motions — particularly those related to the Ajaokuta Steel Company.

The Senate is expected to deliberate on the committee’s recommendations in the coming days
