Rivers State Will No Longer Allow Wike Cause Trouble in the State

The Chairman Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board, Chief David Briggs has said that the people of Rivers State will no longer sit back and allow the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)M Nyesom Wike foment crisis in the state.

Briggs, a former Commissioner for Works in the state who served in the Dr. Peter Odili administration while speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt on Friday said that Wike finds it difficult to thrive in a peaceful environment.

He noted that Wike’s latest tirades against the former governor of the state, Dr. Peter Odili was part of Wike’s desperation to remain relevant in the state’s politics.

According to Briggs, “Wike as a person cannot and will not survive where there is peace, and that is the problem we have in Rivers State today.”

The Rivers State UBEB boss said that Wike’s latest attack on Odili whom he described as the man who helped to bring the FCT minister to political limelight was unfortunate. He recalled that Dr. Odili played leading role in making Wike a two-term Chairman of Obio/AAkpo Local Government Area as well as making him a governor in 2015.

Briggs noted that peace had returned to Rivers State following an Appeal Court ruling that restored the allocation of the state and Wike started the latest attacks in order to disrupt the peace of the state.

“If you note since after the court judgement concerning the release of federal allocation to the state government, the state had been quiet. Rivers State was fast enjoying peace and Wike had just created the problems so that he will be the beneficiary,” he said.

The former commissioner, however, noted that the people of the state will no longer fold their arms allow the minister cause more disharmony in the state.
