2025 Christmas, Safest in Recent History CAN President Bishop Okoh Says, Praises Tinubu for Action Against Insurgents

The National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Daniel Okoh has said that the religious body is committed to working with President Bola Tinubu to ensure the development and progress of the country.

Bishop Okoh made the declaration in Lagos on Friday when he led leaders of CAN on a courtesy visit to President Tinubu and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu at their Ikoyi Lagos home.

 

Speaking to journalists after the visit, the clergy man noted that the 2025 Chrismas celebrations is the first in many years without violent attacks on Christian worshipers in several years.

According to Bishop Okoh, “This visit by the leaders of Christians Association of Nigeria to the home of President Bola Tinubu and his wife, mother of the nation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is to appreciate them for what they are doing, providing for the poor and being committed to moving Nigeria forward.

“And of course the recent efforts they are making to ensure that every Nigerian is safe. This is something we are very happy about.

“This is the first Christmas in many years that we are waking up without the news that any church is attacked. We are happy and we hope that this situation continues.

Assuring the president of their support, Bishop Okoh said, “We are also here to pledge our commitment to continue to work with the President for the progress and development for our country Nigeria.”
