REVEALED: Why Tinubu Was Absent at NBA Conference

It has been revealed that the absence of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) Senator Bola Tinubu at the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) conference in Lagos was because the former governor of Lagos State was meeting with some  opposition governors in Paris, France.

In a new twist to the crises rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike who has been at loggerheads with the presidential candidate of the party and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar led his colleagues from Oyo, Seyi Makinde; Benue, Samuel Ortom; Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in a negotiation with Bola Tinubu.

Sources Close to both Tinubu and the Rivers Governor confirm that the meeting indeed held in France where the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde had earlier been on a vacation.

The source  also revealed that after the first round of meetings held in France, the Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom left for Nigeria, while Wike and his other colleagues left for London, United Kingdom where a second meeting held with Tinubu’s representatives.

The source revealed that Wike and his colleagues may most likely work in favour of Bola Tinubu even while they remain in the PDP.

The absence of Tinubu at the NBA annual conference in Eko Atlantic City where he was represented by his running mate, Kashim Shettima had raised serious concerns amongst the APC members and supporters of Tinubu.

His rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party were both at the conference.
