1st Black Colombian Vice President, Francia Márquez to Arrive Nigeria on 3-Day Visit Today
The Vice President of the Republic of Colombia, Her Excellency Francia Márquez is expected to arrive Nigeria today on a 3-day official visit.
Elected into office in 2022, Ms. Márquez, 43 is the first female black Vice President of the South American nation. Ms. Francia Márquez is an environmental activist and a lawyer. She is the second woman to ever hold the office of the Vice President in Colombia.
Describing the visit of Ms. Márquez as “historic,” VP Shettima said that the visit “will strengthen ties in trade, agriculture, education, energy, culture, and women’s empowerment, opening a new chapter in South-South collaboration.”
